This is a really special Mali djembe! This is one of the first finished drums to come out of our latest shipment. We've had many people inquire about this shipment because the word has gotten out about how exceptional these drums are.  The latest drums are unusual because the shells have all been carved extra thick. Each shell is approximately 1 1/8" thick. For the connoisseur of djembe this is something special. Dense wood means that the shell will be strong and the sound will be powerful. This particular djembe has a thick skin pulled extra tight. It is suped up and ready to play lead. An additional bonus with Mali shells is that even the solo drums have a well rounded bass and tone as well. Beautiful djembe!
