This solid shell conga set is hand carved in Mali from Haré (Guéni) wood. We professionally headed these drums with thick cow skins from Guinea and tuned them to our specifications. These drums plays like the familiar hardware tuned congas, but they have more of a raw, earthy feel resulting from the solid shell, non-processed cow skin and rope tuning.  These drums are extremely responsive and vocal and will rival any professional quality congas on the market.
