Details

This is a  solid shell Bugarabu from Mali, West Africa. They are carved by the same carver that carves our djembes and dunun and are excellent quality. Many think of Bugarabu as a cross between a conga and a djembe. The tones and slaps have a very similar feel to a conga and the bass is more pronounced, similar to the djembe. Bugarabu originate from the Casamance region of Senegal and are generally played in sets of 2 - 5.  We head these drums with thick cow skin which brings out the best combination of bass, tone and slap.

Note: We have added a protective rubber bottom to this bugarabu. It is an $80 value, however as a web special we are including it for only $40. The cost of the rubber bottom is already reflected in the price of the drum.
